Vehicle Lockouts, Opened Without Damage

Lockouts happen in predictable places: petrol station forecourts, grocery car parks, downtown garages, workplace lots at the end of a shift, and driveways where someone pressed the lock button with the fob still inside. Keyless entry made it rarer than it was, and made it stranger when it happens, a fob with a flat battery, or one sitting in the boot, and the car simply will not acknowledge you.

We open vehicles with proper lockout tools that work through the door seal to reach the interior handle or the lock mechanism, without touching the glass. The door closes afterwards exactly as it did before.

If a Child or Pet Is Locked Inside, Call 911 First

This is the one situation where you should not call a tow company first. A closed car in Memphis heat becomes lethal fast, interior temperatures climb far beyond the outside air within minutes, and small children and animals have very little margin. Call 911 immediately. Emergency services will treat it as the emergency it is and will break a window without hesitating if that is what the situation requires. Tell us as well and we will treat it as top priority, but 911 goes first.

In every other case, the calm answer is the right one. There is no prize for getting in five minutes sooner via a smashed window that costs several hundred dollars and leaves glass through the interior for months.

Please Do Not

Use a coat hanger. It bends the frame

Force a wedge. It splits weather seals

Break a window. It is the costliest option

Yank the handle repeatedly

Let a stranger 'have a go'

Leave a child or pet inside, call 911

Frequently asked questions

Will you damage my car getting in?

Not with the right tools. Damage comes from improvised entry, hangers, screwdrivers and over-driven wedges bend door frames and split weather seals, and those repairs cost far more than the lockout call.

What if my keys are locked in the trunk?

Often solvable by opening the cabin first and using the boot release or folding the rear seats. Some vehicles isolate the boot when locked, and those need a locksmith or a dealer. We will tell you which yours is.

Do you need proof that it is my car?

Yes, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does not ask. Driving licence plus registration or insurance is normal. It takes a moment and it is the reason lockout services are not simply a car theft tool.

Can you open a keyless car with a dead fob battery?

Usually. Most keyless vehicles keep a hidden mechanical key blade inside the fob and a concealed keyhole on the driver’s door. Many also let you start the car by holding the dead fob against a specific spot on the steering column or the start button. If none of that works, we open it the conventional way.

Can you make me a new key?

Cutting and programming keys is a locksmith or dealer job, not a towing one. We get you into the vehicle; if the key is genuinely lost rather than locked inside, we can tow you to somewhere that can make one.
