Wrecker Service for Commercial Vehicles in a Freight City
Memphis is one of the busiest freight hubs in North America. The airport, the rail yards, the river terminals and the warehouse corridors along Lamar, Getwell and Holmes Road put an enormous number of commercial vehicles on local roads every day, and a light-duty truck cannot recover any of them.
Heavy duty towing is a different trade with different equipment: rotators and heavy wreckers, air-brake knowledge, load-securement understanding, and the training to lift a loaded trailer without destroying the frame. Memphis Towing Now dispatches heavy recovery for semis and tractor units, box and straight trucks, buses, motorhomes and RVs, and equipment that has gone off a hard surface.
We work the interstate corridors. I-40, I-55, I-240 and I-269, as well as the industrial parks, distribution yards and truck stops around the metro and across the state lines into Southaven and West Memphis.

Downtime Is the Real Cost
For a fleet manager or an owner-operator, the tow invoice is rarely the largest number involved. Missed delivery windows, detention, a driver burning hours of service on a shoulder, and a customer wondering where their freight is, that is where a breakdown actually costs money. So the questions that matter are how fast the right truck arrives and whether it arrives with the right capability.
Tell our dispatcher the unit type, whether it is loaded, the gross weight if you know it, and exactly how it is sitting. A loaded fifty-three foot trailer on soft ground is a different recovery from an empty tractor on a hard shoulder, and sending the wrong equipment costs everyone another hour.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a wrecker and a tow truck?
In the South, and in Memphis particularly, people use ‘wrecker’ where others say ‘tow truck’, often for any tow. In the trade the word usually means a boom-equipped recovery unit capable of lifting and winching, as opposed to a flatbed that carries. If you ask us for a wrecker we will ask what you are moving, so the right truck is the one that arrives.
Can you recover a loaded trailer?
Yes. Loaded recovery needs the weight assessed before anything is lifted, and sometimes the load transferred or the trailer offloaded first. Give us the weight and commodity on the phone.
Do you handle RVs and motorhomes?
Yes. RVs are heavy, long and low, and towing one with light-duty equipment risks the chassis and the coach body. They are a heavy-duty job.
Do you offer fleet accounts?
Yes. Fleets running the Memphis corridors can set up an account with agreed rates and consolidated billing, which removes the per-incident payment friction when a unit goes down at 3 a.m.
How soon can heavy recovery reach I-40?
Heavy units are a smaller pool than light-duty trucks, so arrival depends on what is already committed. The dispatcher tells you a real window on the call.
